I was asked of this today by a friend and I thought her answer was quite refreshing.
What do you think is Australia's biggest contribution to humanity?
Gemma Ward and Miranda Kerr
Thanks Oz
Lawn mowers and the good old galvanised rotary clotheslines.
Dave of course!
(Well, someone was going to say it!)
I would have thought something closer to limonene to strip mercury out of water sources.
As a deaf person with Cochlear Implant:

(I've been toying with the idea of sending my old Ci processor to Dave for the mailbag, but I'm afraid I need to keep it around as backup when I get a new one next month)
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.
Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan.
The queen of kitsch bubblegum pop music. But we can be so lucky... lucky, lucky, lucky to have found a market for her. As far away from Australia as possible.

One of the Australia's first contributions was crime reduction in Britain in the 18th/19th centuries.
Other notable contributions are Eucalyptus aroma therapy, Danny Deckchair, and EEVBlog.

Well they couldn't dump them in America in more after the war of Independence
Another thing
As they were convicts, they couldn't be out and about committing crimes as they were locked up
Letting everyone know what a knife is!
Smokey ,
surely no everyone... just the gun challenged

Tell you what, if you don't want Kylie, feel free to send her over here, I'm sure I can find somewhere for her.
I mean, we already gave you Russel Crowe, seems like a fair trade to me, I'll even chuck in Pavlova.
You can keep Jason though.
The Bee Gees.
OK, they were made in pommy land, but were refined in Australia and then exported to the world. Barry once said the genre called disco was created from their music. It's not really true, because disco existed prior to the Bee Gees taking up the genre. But their music certainly promoted the genre.
We also created the antithesis of the Bee Gees... Dave and the Derros "Death to Disco", a great composition for discerning tastes in fine music. The Australian contribution to the death of disco.

Convicts eventually get released and some even reproduce.
Reducing crime is a good thing, you should be proud your island played a positive role.
Kangaroo boxers (the first time I saw a kangaroo was in a western)
All good choices.
My friend picked Julian assange. My choice is crocodile Dundee. Aside from crocodile Dundee, I knew nothing then about Australia.
