Automated Storage Systems

(1/1)

jonovid:
automated storage system suggestions
a video from Japan about the automated storage of bicycles & EV's.
the electric vehicles in storage as shown in the video are also at individual charging stations.

Why did I post this, do you like me have storage space problems.
I need one at a time access to one of as many as 50 plastic storage containers.
but it is slow stacking and unstacking a room sized rubik's cube looking for that particular item.
I have long considered if automated storage can work at home. if its even possible?
if you are interested in automated storage? have you made your own?

maybe found a way to fit 4 cars in a 2 car garage or fit 4 bicycles in an apartment.
a DIY warehouse in a room.  a DIY sliding filing cabinet system.
maybe an automated storage system for the lab. using for example plastic storage containers.
or maybe automated on-the-bench carousel for 200 types of resistors.  controlled by arduino.
if you have automated your storage or have suggestions on how to do so  please have your say.
keep it simple if you can.

Imagine being stuck in your car and it gets parked automatically. You may have a tough time trying to get out of that building with those heavy robotic lift moving up and down.

I have seen a few people using a kardex system. Though it would take up two floors in a house. I have it on my list for when I am rich and can afford such luxuries.
