I only use lead free anyway. Lead is poison if it enters your body, nose, mouth, what ever.

When I was just learning, pre-teen and on, I used to hold leaded solder in my mouth while soldering, as a third hand.  My parents didn't know any better, in-fact didn't pay any attention to what I did for the most part.  Did that for many years before learning!

Later in life I took up a second close hobby, firearms shooting and reloading, since then I've reloaded tens of thousands of leaded rounds.

Basically both of my hobbies involve lead, and lots of it.  Ask anybody but my wife and I'm completely normal,  :-DD

Basic common sense, like washing your hands and your good.
Are you still about 30 wait till about 70!

Believe it or not. My Favourite way of getting solder off of the pads, since I was very young, was (and maybe still is), Cutting about 40cm of Telephone or Comms cable, pulling out the cores. Then Heat the pad up, put the 'pipe' up to the pad, and breathe in through it.
I used to love the burning in my lungs when I did that. I still think it works better than Mechanical Suckers or Wicking....

That is living dangerously, my mercury playing doesn't even compare!

Kids, don't try that at home, even if it's lead free solder.

oh I do remember the days in school when we would break up mercury switches and bust the mercury balls up into a million little balls and then gather them all up on the desk.. oh what fun that was,  if they only knew... maybe that's why my liver quivers once in a while.

Can we work on getting a senior citizen discount on Mantis magnifiers for the 51 - 70 group?

It's covered by medicare. The walker adapter is extra.

For most people, their average age is half their current age.  Now you have to wonder if the respondents answered the actual question.

I though most people's average age will be 100%

As long as you can reply to the forum :)

I see that after a time, the histogram of the age responses basically just matches the age of being self aware and healthy. Nobody is truly self aware below 11 years old and most people are losing mental faculties or health by 70 or so. No very surprising how the histogram looks.

As only 2.8% of members gave their age , It would be illogical to generalize on self awareness or mental health linked to age .

For most people, their average age is half their current age.  Now you have to wonder if the respondents answered the actual question.

No, it's half of their current age plus one. If you are n years old then the sum of all of your ages is 1/2*n*(n+1). Divide this by the number of ages you have had, n, you get 1/2*(n+1).

Sorry. I remember that formula since my school days as it's a typical exercise when you learn induction.
