A large part of BTTF's success is contained in the camera work, the scenery and other things that you just cannot replace in a play. Also, there's the profanation factor. Imagine if they would do that with Star Wars. I think it could start an actual War. That's my opinion, anyway.

P.S. Imagine Doc Brown singing in falsetto "What did I tell you? 88 MPH!"  :-DD
