Knowing Dave's interest in Back to the future I thought that this would be of interest
My apologies if you have already seen it.

MARTY: Autonomous, Electric Delorean Can Do Donuts
Stanford University engineers have built an autonomous Delorean capable of precise drifting at large angles in order to study how cars perform in extreme situations, which could help guide the development of autonomous safety protocols. The car is nicknamed MARTY (Multiple Actuator Research Test bed for Yaw control).

I don't think much of the control system, the way the steering is going berserk within its control function to maintain a continuous drift.

But .. what the heck.. I'm an amateur. :-P
Not easy, not hard, just need to be incentivised.

A bit too much gain on that control loop!

Thats cool. At first I was, ahem, " Concerned" about them using a DeLorean cause lets face it. They are pretty much crap as far as cars go. I have driven in one and they fall somewhere between a Toyota Tracel and a Volvo that is in the act of breaking down performance wise. Fortunately they did the sensible thing and throw most of what makes it move away and built a purpose built car upon which they set a DeLorean body to make look interesting. Also they reinforced the frame. They are well known as being what has been described as "Floppy" and having the structural rigidity of a  fuzzy bunny slipper.

Fun clip.
