Battery impedance meter, RC battery tester

Just check this out , and tell me your opinion.

Is there any alternative way to use an DMM to do the job ?

Not really, but you could probably rig something up with a function generator and a scope. I believe the principle is the same as measuring the ESR of electrolytic capacitors. The Bob Parker ESR meter is often used for batteries with the protection diodes removed (they'd short the battery terminals).

Its worth it only if you use high current drain expensive batteries.  Do to manually, requires, as alm says, a frequency generator and good DMM.

The only question I have is how accurate is that ebay meter?

I would need to convince myself it does work by measuring Z myself first then comparing it to the meter.
