Can't see a reason it wouldn't work. You'd want to be careful not to over-discharge the battery so you'd need an undervoltage lockout on the battery, or just be careful with checking the SOC from time to time. Most tool batteries don't isolate the contacts when the battery voltage is too low, it is up to the tool to decide not to run.It's probably cheaper to get a USB C powerbank though.
