Blackmagic Design Editing Software
« on: April 08, 2019, 09:53:20 pm »
Pretty sure Dave is aware of Blackmagic an Australian equipment and editing software company here in Australia. They develop products for the acquisition, production, broadcast space.

The development this company does is nuts absolutely amazing and incredibiliy well priced.

Their editing software DaVinci Resolve is on steroids and is free! They just released version 16

So what is your question?

No question just letting Dave and forum members know.

As part of Resolve 16 they have included a special UI for You Tubers to cut a video quickly and effiently. Years ago we were over he Avid Media Composer reseller. Back in those days just the software was +$30k usd and didn’t do anything close to what Resolve can do for free.

Dave’s a You Tuber thought it would be of interest.

I tried it a while back and it's didn't have basic functionality I needed.

No question just letting Dave and forum members know.

I tried it a while back and it's didn't have basic functionality I needed.

recently I started using lightworks as it will run on my 32 bit hardware, impressive as daVinci resolve is , its 64 bit
and its so true! its a college to switch to all new editing software.  everything is in the wrong place!
and has the wrong name. Hollywood likes it one way, see the video

5 THINGS: on The Truth About Video Editing Software in Hollywood (ep 213) Avid, Premiere, FCP + more

I used MAGIX for more then ten yrs, and find it so instinctive, easy to use, in particularly the copy and paste,  drag and drop.
just overlap the video clips to cross-fade. drag the ends in or out,  up or down to fade the whole clip.
most of all I could hi-light with pointer a whole block of time-line copy and paste the lot.
