Bluetooth Extenders
« on: September 25, 2023, 07:40:25 pm »
Good Morning All,   I have a DMM with Bluetooth capabilities and I'm monitoring some battery voltages in the basement.  I'm trying to read the voltages on my tablet in a room on the 1st floor, but the bluetooth signal keeps dropping out.  The in-line distance is only about 20 ft. with one floor and one wall in-between, (both wood/plasterboard).  There are bluetooth range extenders on the market and they are all pricey.  I would bite the bullet, but am wondering if anyone here has any positive experience with any of them. :-//

Find an old satellite dish and put the meter where the LNB is mounted, then aim it upstairs.
Cryptocurrency has taught me to love math and at the same time be baffled by it.

Cryptocurrency lesson 0: Altcoins and Bitcoin are not the same thing.

Bluetooth to wifi gateways are cheap, but they are proprietary to specific manufacturers devices. You could have an old android phone connected to the device, then connect to the phone, etc.

Though the money is probably better spent on an equivalent wifi volt measuring device, or DMM with ethernet port, if the satellite idea does not work (you can try a baking pan or bowl or  something as well).
