Ok so today has been a day of finding bodges, first up was the LCD on a aser laptop, someone had rammed a LCD in it that did not fit properly and wondered why it had cracked, i got it free and replaced it an hour ago so its now working, but I hate people who do such things and also leave half the screws missing...
Then I opened a function Generator i got to find the mains input leads had been spliced and the bare wires although soldered had then been covered in ....... plain masking tape. So I can't fix that today and had to order some heat shrink tubing. I suppose I could replace the caps I got for it though.
