You are always talking about how you are swimming in multimeters. You are out there blowing DMMs up with high voltage and dropping test gear down canyons. An unspecified number of character LCDs? Is that really the best you can do for a contest born from your own radio show? Don't be such a tight ass.
a) This contest has
nothing to do with me or the radio show, it is all Chris Gammel and Jeri. Chris mentioned The Amp Hour because he's a co-host, his call.
b) If you were following the tweets and other news you'd know that the prize was originally advertised as 40 (forty) x LCD display modules. I upped that estimate to 70 modules. I pitched this to Chirs and Jeri as essentially a "lifetime supply" of LCD modules. Obviously Chris chose not to include that detail on the web site and just put "multiple".
The prize is actually how ever many LCD modules fit into a 3kg postage satchel. By weight that's about 70 modules, but I'm not sure that many will physically fit, I'll have to try it.
How much are they worth?, I don't know, let's say at least $5ea, for 70 modules that's a $350 prize.
Many places charge over $10ea for them.
c) What do I get out of offering a prize? Absolutely nothing, zip, nada, almost certainly not a single extra viewer to my blog.
d) Don't be such a whining dickhead and run your mouth before you know all the facts. You could have simply asked "how many is "multiple" before making a complete and utter fool of yourself in public.
Dave.
