hello community. I hope you are well I would like to know is that the BPW41N sensor is a linear or non-linear sensor with justification. thanks |
| SeanB:
Quite linear if used in a current source mode into a virtual ground at an opamp input, and, like any photodiode, not linear in voltage source mode, though running it with a bias voltage probably will be reasonably linear. Datasheet here, https://www.vishay.com/docs/81522/bpw41n.pdf so yes it is reasonably linear within a range, though low light and bright light levels is going to make it non linear at the high end, and noisy at the low end. |
