Bypassing Keypad With Magnet (video)

This guy has many funny videos and educates crooks very well.

WTF!!!
What were the designers even thinking with their single time-share brain cell? Isn't it obvious that you just *DON'T* put the 'brain' of an access control system in a location that is less secure than the area it controls?
The *FAIL* isn't that relays can be activated by magnets, its that they control a critical circuit and are there in the first place to be activated. All the keypad should do is send well-encrypted button presses to the 'brain' which should be the secure side of the door, preferably in a physically locked, robust secure cabinet.

Not a first lock he opened with a magnet. While his videos show how to pick some locks, and might be used by crooks, ultimately he shows what locks are total crap that can be opened with a fork, or a piece of can.

It NEVER ceased to amaze me, when I worked in the security business for even large buildings
and enterprises, how even the SIMPLEST 'mechanical' means would 'circumvent' such Code-Pads etc! 8)
Like NOT CLEANING THEM REGULARLY!!! (What?). You walk up to some door access, and see say 4 buttons
that are rubbed 'cleaner' than the rest! Say... 2,4,6,8. So you KNOW the code is either that, or say 4,6,8,2...
or 2,6,8,4 etc etc. 30-secs later, your in!!! Believe me... CLEAN THE KEYPADS!! :palm:
