I bought some supposed Fairchild parts off amazon that I suspect are Chinese off-brand parts.
can anyone identify the manufacturer?

Hmm, well, the markings do correspond with what is expected according to the latest On Semi datasheet (Fairchild now being part of them), the "WK52" being factory, wafer, and week number. But, the lines are in the wrong order - it supposedly should be "BS170" on the first line. Older Fairchild datasheet doesn't give any info on package markings, unfortunately.

I'd have a search on LCSC and compare pictures. That'll probably tell you if they're actually a different brand.

My collection of BS170 yields two types

Marking BS170 is older than the Siliconix  types.
All bought well before any chinesium types appeared.

I look at the font BS170 is printed in and wanna say Philips. But then again the markings are not straight that makes me wanna say Chinesium? I don't know.

Actually, on further investigation, it is probably not a Fairchild BS170. From photos I've found searching on Google, Fairchild ones should have 'F' logo on them, and definitely the manufacturing code and part number the other way around, exactly as per datasheet.
