I've been buying Harwin M20 terminals for this sort of purpose and they've been pretty solid. They're the same basic design as the generic 'dupont' connectors, but, ya know.... good. Offhand I don't know if they make a single-position housing. I often don't bother with the plastic shell for single connectors (like squid cables) and just cover them with heat shrink instead, which makes it easier to fit multiple single connections next to each other on a header, and a little easier to write labels on. They'll fit into the generic 'dupont' housings though, and I have a bunch of those hanging around from pulling them off of cheapo jumper wires.
The M22 series is the 2mm pitch equivalent. I tend to use 1.5mm pads on a 2mm pitch for test points, so on development units I'll solder on a 2mm header to connect the M22s to. Like the M20s, they have a self contained spring contact so you can use them with heat shrink instead of the plastic housing for individual connections.
