Ants in your.......?
« on: August 31, 2016, 12:17:03 pm »
Well in my case ants in my solar garden lights !!. Had a dim solar light and thought it was some moisture ingress from recent heavy rain affecting the battery but no it was a full on ant nursery  :o.
See pic. I wonder what the impedance across the blob of pupae was ?. Must admit getting the multimeter out did not cross the mind at that point, (shame on me :P).
Currently cool-ish weather but this would be a very toasty environment come summer.   >:D

And this is not the first time either. Around last Christmas the sensor light on the garage started tripping the RCD, so up a ladder to the light at 3 meters up, removed the globe to look for corrosion etc and was promptly covered in ants  :wtf: .
The sensor was a complete write off but for the solar light it was left open on the front steps and the little buggers got the hint and packed up shop and were completely gone the next day with no sign they were ever there  :).
Bl@@dy ants....... if its not my light fittings its the kitchen !.
The odd multimeter or 2 or 3 or 4...or........can't remember !.

I thought there are enough spiders in Australia that get rid of any insects they crawled over.

Solar lights and sprinkler timers/valves. And in the brick cracks (then into the house).

EDIT: you have mercy. I deploy bug spray, even on PCBs
