Can you identify this connector?
« on: July 25, 2018, 06:37:20 pm »

Hi there,

Can anyone identify what connector S2 might be from the footprint/outline?

It's for USB on an embedded system, the middle pin is GND and either side are USB+ and USB-

Standard USB connectors are obviously 4 pins so i doubt it is from that family, and suspect it's something completely different. It would only be used during development & test and not in production, hence it's not populated.

Thanks,

How about S for Switch? The other connectors are labeled J.

Good call, thanks for that :)

Yep all connectors are J - bit of poking around it's actually a reset switch.
It runs to some pins on the CPU module that should be USB according to docs but i've just checked with the scope and they aren't, so it must have been customised. If you short pins 3+1, the system resets.

Many thanks,
