gerbers Gerbers GERBERS ahahhhhhhhhhhhh
« on: June 08, 2014, 02:21:07 pm »
Me again    :-+ I know i'm going to piss a few ppl off writing this but I have no choice. sorry.
I thought I had this problem solved in my last post.
I've designed another pcb to get manufactured, but when I get it checked with https://oshpark.com/ it says theres no border outline.
The outline is there on my eagle layer 20 "DIMENTION" and when I do the cam processor it is active on all layers. So why is it not generating the outline. I've done a small test pcb which I link below but that said the same thing no outlind.  |O

https://app.box.com/s/hvnd4hi7l8wki0rk2qjn
Test file is here if someone could please check what im doing wrong.
Thank you.

OSH Park require the outline layer to be .gko rather than .gml

OK, just tried it with zofcpcb and it worked. Thanks
been banging my head against the wall for nothing.
How do you find out what file type a specific board house needs?

If you are using Windows, 'gerbv' is a simple to use and good gerber viewer.

One problem I noticed with some gerber viewers is that they will not show the outline if it's made of 0 width lines (gerbv does show it) so it safer to give it some minimal line width.

I also don't like gerbers, mostly because different vendors require different gerber settings.

Well, for OSHPark, click the 'design rules' link in the top banner. There's the list of all the file names they need.

They also accept eagle .brd files directly.
