??? Can't figure out how GIGATRON produces text, on its VGA output ???
(1/1)
RJSV:
??? How does Gigatron display text, while doing text entry with Tiny Basic ???
The connected Arduino supplies a PS2 keyboard connection, and puts out ASCII characters, (I suppose).
So each byte has an ASCII code, but somewhere there has to be a character generator, producing like a 9 by 7 cell for display (VGA), on the GIGATRONIC PC board, right ?
RJSV:
...OR, is the TINY BASIC entered, line by line, by way of a lap-top, conventionally, first, then downloaded into the GIGATRON hardware.
Missed that, watching the various YouTube coverage.
Thanks

The basic interpreter is located in the ROM along with the font. You enter the program that is stored in the RAM and is executed from the RAM.
