A tour of what is currently the most expensive property for sale in the world.
Which people who could afford it mostly don't actually live in it. The uber-rich property market is essentially an inter-generational wealth transfer mechanism.
Also, the uber-rich don't look at a house property as "I want to live in NYC because my family/job is here" -- but rather, "I need a place in NYC because logistically its nice for whatever business I need to attend in the region and/or overseas on travel". Plus it being a neat tax/investment vehicle.
But if its for living, honestly for this money I wonder where the private helicopter pad is. There are plenty of big airports around Manhattan, but none of them are in Manhattan. Is an uber-rich person really going to deal with "bruh was late to meeting because rush hour traffic (or any traffic in Manhattan)"? If their time is worth ten of thousands $/hr, then no: if they can afford a private jet with its own chef onboard, then they can also afford to have them flown onto their house.
Rurally this is a lot easier and makes way more sense IMO. There are plenty of airfield residential communities for the rich (that also happen to be aviation geeks), and private airstrip houses for the uber-rich. And I don't mean an airstrip for a Cessna Caravan, but more a house like John Travolta. If it's somewhere rural it also blends in a lot better with nature and becomes a lot more cozy.
Oh and for John Travolta I guess it
needs to be rural, because I'm not sure anyone would want to have such a plane take off on a daily basis unless they are avgeek as well. Those turbojet (not turbofan) engines are so incredibly loud it exceed all modern noise ordinances.
But hey, as an average Joe these kinds of homes are far out of reach. Beggars can't be choosers (-:
