Title: Ceramic Filter - Does anyone recognise this manufacturer logo?
Post by: TheBay on November 10, 2021, 09:44:08 am
I've repaired quite a few radios that have had the infamous Toko ceramic filter failure, where the plastic is hygroscopic and causes internal contamination of the ceramic filter. This is a common issue with quite a few Kenwood and Yaesu transceivers.

Usually I could get replacement parts from the manufacturer of the radio, however it seems stock of 2 of these filters have run out and they are sending out the Toko filters that have this issue (Must be really really old stock as Toko was taken over by Murata a few years ago)
I had 2 "New" filters arrive from Kenwood this week that had black legs and contamination had already taken place in storage!.

Murata did/do make these filters but I'm struggling to find anywhere that stock them.

The good filters I've used have a logo that look like "CD" but I have no idea who actually make them, I'm struggling to find the following 2 parts:
M55GW
M50GT

I can easily get hold of the following as spare parts
M50EW
M55EW

Can anyone identify the logo at all, picture attached.

Alternatively does anyone know where I can buy all 4 from Murata? They are listed on a Polish store but they just tell me it's a placeholder and they do not actually stock them.

I don't like fitting the generic "LTW" filters from the far east.
