Had to think about this for a second

!(D & N) = !D + !N

Ah, good old De Morgan.

D=1, N=0, CanPark = 0 + 0
D=0, N=1, CanPark = 0 + 0

I don't get it. It means you can't park any time, like it would sound.  ???

I think the OP was thinking that, since D = ¬N then D&N = 0, so you can park any time.

Linguistically one would normally write "No parking, day or night", so there is a sort of logic to the original point.

!(D & N) = !D + !N

D=1, N=0, CanPark = 0 + 0
D=0, N=1, CanPark = 0 + 0

You appear to have computed !D + N and D + !N there ;)

Good point...

Note to self: Late night logic should be avoided.

My interpretation was that you can't park there for the day AND night, so parking for either the day OR night is fine.

Although I'm not going to test it ;)

No logic needed- you may park at any time for however long you wish because the scribble is not a legal sign.

Of course if Tiny the bouncer comes out of that door and tells you to park somewhere, then better well park somewhere else. ;D

Or if it is private property and Pete from Texas comes out with his shotgun.

My solution is to call metro control, ask for the database operator and ask them to look up the owner and phone them to move it. Normally works a treat. Otherwise wait an hour for the politzei to arrive and another hour for the tow truck.  I normally tell the tow truck operator "Do not take care with this one" and normally they do not, often whipping it out sideways to get it lined up with the lowbed. Beast was a brand new luxury car on it's way to a dealership, towed because it was parked across a driveway, and no dealer plate visible. Would have loved to hear that one the next day as to why the car was in the pound with 4 damaged tyres.
