Utter scam, just like the IOT tractors. They've had automatic lawnmowers for awhile, they are basically just a Roomba. Internal sensors, GPS, and a navigation computer are all that are needed.

I hate that this sort of thing is always cloud connected.  Just give me a web interface, maybe SSH or an open API so I can control/automate it locally how I want.   Same with all the other smart stuff like fridges etc.   I can see the appeal, but I would rather this stuff be local only and more open so it's easier to tie it in with other stuff if I want to without having to rely on a 3rd party.

That's a scary thought and I would not even be surprised if it happened.   Cloud based pace makers that connect to the cloud through 5G.  I feel dirty just saying that phrase.

Husqvarna 315x worked about 500 hours on my lawn last season - getting ready to install it again (maybe early May) for this season, probably will change the razor-blades before that..
Hopefully in addition to the blades only the Li-battery needs replacement at some (distant?) point in time...
Cost about 2k, so it needs to work at least 10 summers for this to make sense. Only major problem last summer was a rabbit chewing on the guide-wire..
No camera in the Husq., but the android phone-app does show if it's running or charging, has the GPS track, and allows adjusting the schedule.

Some years back a friend of mine had a heart operation to correct some kind of rhythm problem. His heart would start racing or something, firing too much and not pumping. I believe they cut some nerves or something and they installed some monitoring electrodes and he was connected via radio to some device which was connected to his doctor's office 24/7 via cell phone data.  If he had an episode of arrhythmia his doctor in the office would get the alarm instantly.  If it was mild he might not notice it but his doctor would know.  I remember he could not go to far away from the white box and he had to take it with him wherever he went.

It is not a pacemaker but it is the kind of thing that would go with a pacemaker.

I remember he had to fight the insurance company so they would pay for it and he was royally pissed off about it. One day I told him the aggravation was going to cause him a heart attack.  I believe they finally paid but I'll have to ask him.
