Shows how little energy is really stored in capacitorscompared with batteries, generators and ofc mains.

PS I would hate to be a Coke can in this world. :-p

Amazing how fast the can moves when you do this - here's my destruct-o-tron crushing a can at 1000frames/second.

Youtube channel:Taking wierd stuff apart. Very apart.
Mike's Electric Stuff: High voltage, vintage electronics etc.
Day Job: Mostly LEDs

The mechanical one isn't nearly as impressive, aside from all that delightful humming and buzzing it makes while it runs. You can easily crush a can by hand with only a little leverage, but the most practical way to crush would be to gently squeeze the sides, thus compromising the compressive strength of the can. You could easily use 1/10th the energy of what that device is using, but I guess that would be missing the point.
