Computer Power Switch Plugs
« on: January 11, 2013, 06:03:40 am »
Does anyone know where to get the 2 pin plugs use for motherboard power and reset switches etc?

I want just the housing and pins, no wire.

This is the sort of thing I mean, but I want to buy 100+ quantities and would hope to get them cheaper than that from a proper electronics wholesaler.
I've just spent nearly an hour searching, but must be using the wrong search terms. These should be very common, considering how many computers are out there.

I have used these in the past, but they sometimes don't fit as well as the proper plugs.

I found them on Digikey, bloody expensive though!

Housing:

Pins:

There may be some cheaper / equivalent parts on there, I didn't spend much time looking.

Check out the listing at toby.co.uk - note last time I checked they didn't offer snail mail to oz and their rapid delivery price was almost like 'give us your first born'

And don't forget to buy the crimping tool too (around 20-30 Euros) if you don't got it already.

Thanks for the replies. Searching for the text of the ebay link UPI supplied gives quite a few results at sensible prices.

That looks like the sort of thing.  A bit expensive for production, but okay for small quantities. Thanks.
