At least this time it's a honest takeover, not that rubbish 'merge' process that has been Nokia-Siemens-Networks

What is the difference of "honest takeover" vs "merge"?

I have in mind you may mean something like "keeping it intact, fix it, then sell the now fixed company at higher price".  Is that what you mean?

No matter how much they consolidate, their fate outside of the West has been written: those guys cannot compete in a free market.

Takeover = I eat you
Merge = We are equal partners in this new synergetic company

I understand what you are trying to distinct now.  But come now, equal partners?  Yeah, there was one I recall (could have been Lucent) that tried to have two CEO's for a while, but like snakes with two heads, it doesn't increase the odd of success.  On the contrary, it probably just lead to confusion.

Nokia was once a lumber company.  Now it has changed hands at least twice.  It would be interesting if and how much longer that name sticks around.

Nokia is named after ... the city of Nokia in Finland.. and it was a paper-mill , lumber and bicycle tire company. they still make car tires and tires for forestry equipment as well as rubber boots.

The borged Salon Radio ( Salora , based in the city of Salo ) And Mobira ( Also based in Salo ). They also borged ITT . Micronas is then again (was) a spin-off from Nokia

The lumber part we are in agreement.  I thought Nokia was named after the river.

In any event, companies changing is part of life.  Change is not always comfortable, but something one must factor into as one plans one's career.

Either way somehow Nokia manages to stay on top and let others (M$ for example) bleed for their failures. In a certain way that is pretty impressive! I just don't get want they want with Alcahell and Loose end in the era where a PABX is nothing more than a PC with VOIP software.

The PABX and PSTN switch markets are dead. However, Alcatel Lucent are a big supplier of fibre systems, from the backbone stuff right down to the PON stuff for FTTH. That's a long term market, Even wireless systems require a strong fibre backbone.
