COVID-19 won’t kill you, it’s the underlying conditions that might get you.
Pre-existing conditions, weaknesses, or susceptibility to problems like pneumonia are the killers.
Particularly lung and upper respiratory conditions, so it’s probably too late, but quitting the fags for next time may save your life.

What we need to do is manage the infections to not overwhelm the health system.
We can’t STOP CV-19, we can only slow it down to spread the burden.
Hopefully everyone remaining will develop antibodies to fight re-infection until the next mutation of CV comes along.

Not just smoking is bad, air pollution in general is bad.

It would be interesting to see if the younger patients who have/had particularly bad cases have been exposed to more than average pollution.

Asthma is a significant risk too.
Upper respiratory and lung conditions seem to be over-represented, so please be careful for your family & community.
