CRT tv repair Diode question
« on: November 09, 2020, 08:47:06 pm »
Hey guys, I am attempting to repair a monitor chassis on a 1987 19" Emerson TV and have found a bad rectifier diode.  I found the schematics on-line and it designates this diode as DFD05G.  No other specs and having difficulty in finding info/replacement.  Any help will be greatly appreciate.  - D

DFD05G crosses to a 1A 600V 200ns fast recovery rectifier diode NTE552 or 1N4937. I think a UF4007, MUR160 would also work.

edit: if the rectifier connects to the flyback transformer for a scan-rectified power rail, check components downstream like capacitors etc. for shorts that would have caused the diode to fail in the first place.
