Saw the friday ne products post from SF, and yes quite cute, but not worth the price imho.
By the time you can build anything 'serious', you'll have spended some $500-$1000 on these building blocks.
You can by a tremendous shitload of lego or mecano for that, which is a lot more stimulating for
engineering spirit also. Things like this modular 'programming' could also be done in software on this Lego
Mindstorm thing using regular sensors and actuators.
