Data logging ideas
« on: March 19, 2018, 08:47:58 pm »
I would like to have a few data loggers and have been working with Arduino. So far I just have one logging solar data to an SD card. It may work OK, but the SD card is a bit cumbersome to move around and won't survive all the fiddling for very long, and I'd like to get live access to the data.

Another similar project is a temp/humidity monitor for bee hives.

I guess an ideal solution would include wifi access and then some software running somewhere to process that data. I don't have any ideas on that side of it.

I could probably stick some Arduino modules/code together and get it to send data to my wifi router.

I was a little inspired by the better data logger thread, but need something a little more Arduino priced...

Have you considered doing it via 433mhz rf?
Gone for good

I have a couple of those and will likely try that for the solar setup. I think the communication would not be that reliable, and I'd need to run a receiver all the time (maybe on my RPi). I was just looking at the ESP8266 module.

Maybe an SDCard with built-in wifi?
