Datasheet revision gotcha!
« on: May 18, 2013, 03:41:13 pm »
Hi,  I've been trying to lay-out a DMM chipset today and I was using a datasheet printout I downloaded from the manufacturer a few months ago;  I was also using one I downloaded the other day for on-screen reference; and everything was going ok until I noticed some small differences - I'm not sure what impact it would have had on the final circuit operation - but as a numpty it was just by luck I noticed it.

The lesson learned for me is just because you downloaded it yesterday, doesn't mean it's correct today!   so I will always download the very latest version from now on ;-)

Sometimes it's the other way around, where the datasheet changed because the part itself has been revised, and in that case you shouldn't use the latest one.

I was just thinking the same: don't use the oldest or the newest one, use the one that represents the part you have.
Keyboard error: Press F1 to continue.
