Dave old video titler

Dave,

Have you ever considered re releasing your video title unit using the MAX7456 instead of the stv5730. I just fitted one of your old titles into a unit I was working on, and was pleasantly surprised to see your name on the instructions as the author. Just a thought.

Never thought about upgrading that really.
Last I looked there were now several commercial units available.

I made up a video overlay board a while back using the MAX7456, but the project stalled so no code was ever written for it.

Not sure how hard the MAX7456 is to "talk to" as it was a couple of years ago now.

I have fond memories of coding that thing in assembler. It just fitted in the 1K available on the PIC16F84 IIRC
And that included the keyboard character lookup table and all the menu strings etc.
