Title: Dave Spotting...
Post by: CrosseyeJack on May 24, 2014, 01:18:56 am
As we silently observe from a corner of his territory we can see a lesser spotted Davalos Jonehs or "Dave" as the local have fondly named him peering from the protection of his Den to forge around for playthings.

I Urge you all to help catalogue the Life of the Davalos Jonehs to better help further our understanding of the life of the Geekus Electronicus.

Please help save this engendered species by posting any known sightings below.

The wildlife commission as given us this webcam to help spot the Davalos Jonehs. I hope you will help the cause of keeping this strange beast in the public eye. https://www.dropcam.com/p/Lvh0CG (https://www.dropcam.com/p/Lvh0CG)

I see the lesser spotted dave seemily placing items into a pouch and what could be deemed as a box.

I think he has left his den for the day to maybe meet up with his mate at some other location (Need to pester the BBC for more webcams). Maybe they plan to meet at a watering hole, but we know that the lesser spotted Dave is not keen on the beveridge of choice for the Aussie species.

The Lesser Spotted Dave?
Are there two species?

Hm.
He is in there, sitting with a Fluke and a camera, but the "on air" sign is not lit up.

Currently sitting in front of something which looks like a scope, waving his hands up and down in despair. Has the curse of the EEVBlog struck again, or has the LaCroy made one last appearance before embarking on the long journey to the garbage room.

So much body language wasted behind that camera. :)

Looks like he just signed off after something refused to cooperate and be fixed.

If you create a Dropcam account you can 'follow' EEVBlog. This will allow you to watch the recording and there are timeline markers for when movement is detected.

Ah, I wondered why only I saw that, but had seen on other cams.
The only thing it lacks is the ability to show how many people are watching.

Cant get this to work.
Created dropcam account, can't see a way to follow EEVblog. https://www.dropcam.com/p/Lvh0CG (https://www.dropcam.com/p/Lvh0CG) doesn't show any "follow" link. I can only follow those Live demos. So can EEVblogLAB be made a live demo cam also?

Only if Dave manages to stick to a timetable.

You obviously haven't experienced the joys of the British railway system ;)

You never travelled Spoornet then ( was known as South African Railways before the wonks got there) as they often have a good guess if there actually will be a train that day, on the main line. They have a very big fleet of buses though, that are kept pretty busy.

One of the most important tenants of humane zoo keeping is that each species needs a private area to escape from the gawking zoo visitors...

Just found out the Dropcam time is different to Forum time.
The timestamps I posted were Dropcam time.

Perhaps the dropcam timezone needs to be set?

Just saw Dave jump back while measuring something... After that he went under the bench to take powercord out?
Looks like there was near electrocution situation. Good thing nothing happened!  :phew:

How do I alert medical people in case something goes wrong in the EEVblog lab?

Reminds me of that program over here my wife and daughters watch called Big Brother, or on the other hand it's a good idea, because ,if he ever went missing with all that mess in his lab, he could ring the Mrs, and she could guide him out of the maze, now that's a plausible reason for a web cab Health & Safety. :-DD

oh NVM he is not in the lab. Maybe the power was out? We should have timer with counter on it "Time since last power outage:" Just simple arduino with 7 segment displays powered by usb power adaptor. Power goes out timer reset. Finally some use for all those Arduino boards Dave has?
