They must want to ensure that you can start filling out orders asap to keep people happy. Those fees seem a little steep but not at the same time...

Well, I can't order boards until I know how many total I'm getting. Well, I can, but it's cheaper to wait until I know.
You can avoid Paypal by using Pozible's own credit card merchant system, but the fee is more than PayPal!
I don't mind Pozible's 5%, I think it's pretty fair.
Then I've got 30% tax on the profits of course  :(

These widgets look nice!  :)

Why isn't it working?

I could see you (Dave) deciding either way - 1. Get a head start but pay more for boards, or 2.  Get the best price by waiting until the end.

My opinion is that a donator shouldn't expect any action until the end of the campaign - that is, I wouldn't fault Dave for waiting - that's the idea as expressed, up front. (To which everyone agreed.)

Definitely wait. Everyone knew at the start what date you would send the files for production.

But it looks like you priced it too low. :)

BTW, if you run short at the end, I'm happy to get less than the five I paid for. I only really want one.

That's why I sent you $20 for the $15 set: it's always "more expensive than you thought". No, I'm not tooting my horn - just letting you know that some might have donated more than required.

One problem is potentially import duty. Anything over $1000 may get hit. So it may pay me to do two smaller PCB orders.

Thanks.
It didn't occur to me that you could do that, but yes, that's possible to "donate" any value you like.

Anyone know if you can up a donation? I previously did $10, but realized that for $5 more I could get 3 more rulers! =)

Or, Dave, if I did another $5 pledge separate, could you reconcile them?

Shhh!

I pay my fair share of tax, those who don't are part of "the problem".
I used to declare most of my stuff as "hobby" income, because that's what it was. But now I'm a business, so everything is taxable income, including donations etc.

I don't know if someone else has posted this, but if you did not get a chance (or forgot) to add shipping details, you can add the details to your profile by clicking My Stuff > Shipping Info. Hopefully that will carry over to already placed pledges...

Found it here: http://www.pozible.com/faq/index/2

Contacted Dave through Pozible (not sure why they want that, or what he's supposed to do), and emailed Pozible. We shall see. =)

Every dollar of income is taxable, that's how tax works.

Maybe you should order all pcb in one order and ask the manufacturer to send you in two box if that may help with tax.

Australian Customs are smarter then that. If you are getting multiple shipments from one supplier in a short period of time they will flag it and chase you up on it for the duties that they will charge.

wow you locky, 1000$ before import duty...

Here in Denmark we have duty free up to 80dkr(around Au$ 15) and if we get over this then we pay around 30% in import tax and handle fee.
But then again here in Denmark we are paying 50-55% in income tax.

If you feel like you have not given enough on the Pozible for the rulers, go donate here....

http://www.eevblog.com/donations/

And do another Paypal transaction. Did so right now.

Edit: Exchange rates are pretty volatile, 10% difference in 2 transactions for the same US dollar amounts in a period of about 4 days.

So,  there doesn't seem to be a way to increase a donation once the goal has been met. Pozible were a bit less than helpful on that (basically, it's up to Dave to reconcile the two donations).

Dave, what say you?
