It must have been very cool to work on the 747's.  So many big beautiful engines.  Delta has dropped these from their fleet and the only way to fly them with sky team is to book a KLM or Korean Air ticket.  Otherwise, I think it is just Lufthansa.  I know these are not the most efficient vehicle but they will always be my favorite.

At one point (something like 15 years ago), there was speculation that cars may eventually be powered by jet engines due to the higher efficiency. But it turns out that when weight is not the most important factor, Atkinson cycle engines are as efficient as very advanced jet engines sized for a car, while costing far less.
