DigiKey website/account just misbehaving...

Hi

I have a pretty standard setup at my SOHO - all Ubiquiti kit, FTTP, Pi-hole etc. I run a digital publishing business from an outbuilding, so we spend a lot of time doing webby stuff and so on.

Never have any problems generally with any website...

...except DigiKey. It misbehaves all the time. I'm using W11 with Chrome & Firefox, macOS 13.4.1 with Safari, Android 13 with Chrome & iPadOS 16.4.1 (a) with Safari.

All exhibit the same mess with my account. When logged into the UK site, none of my orders show up, none of my lists, I can't create a new list as the site pops up a message saying the list name is already in use by myself or a co-worker (no it isn't), regardless of the name of the new list, e.g. qeiufgq3jhvhjdsvbsvbsvb still fails.

When looking at a part, the ordering section on the right of the page is completely absent. I could go on.

All the above systems show the same thing. I've tried to speak to DigiKey "support" (5 time now) but they just put me on hold "while I speak to a manager", then drop the call.

I know I have lists and orders - I just ordered from them, but it was a complete nightmare. The site reported that it couldn't save my PayPal link, then charged me anyway. It's like dragging a whale across a beach. I also can't change any of my profile settings, like delivery addresses.

As every system here shows the same symptoms, that kind of rules out any particular one, further, if I log into my account on my phone using 4G/5G rather than WiFi, I get the same, so that rules out the domestic setup.

Basically, it appears my account is completely screwed up, but I can't get anyone at DigiKey to help.

Anyone else had this sort of issue - I do see an awful lot of general complaints about the site, but nothing quite like this... I really need a phone number for folk who can ACTUALLY HELP at DigiKey, rather than multiple calls, explaining from scratch every time and always ending in the call being dropped.

EDIT: Eventually managed to get through to someone at DigiKey who actually knew about what had happened. She was a lady, by the sound of it "of a certain age",  who had been at DigiKey for many many years and had seen this before... the big giveaway was that the customer number on my recent order was completely different to the number displayed when I logged in to my account... the number on the screen was not a currently valid account number...

When I first registered with them, about 20 years ago or more, I had a customer number that was registered. I then didn't use them for about 10 years, then tried to order again.
In the interval, they somehow archived my customer number due to lack of use, but didn't delete the account or registration, or notify me etc. When I logged in again (same email address), the account was sort-of still there a and a new customer number was created. However the most of web site was still working on the old, archived, customer number so the system was totally confused about what pricing to display (so it didn't display any), what account info to display (so it didn't display anything), what lists and orders to display (so it didn't display anything) and what account info to change (so it didn't allow any changes) etc. etc. Been a nightmare.

Thank heavens I eventually got a "Global Customer Support" person who really knew the system... took a while...
