Revisionist much?

Yes it is - and always has been.  It is the theme of content I have enjoyed for a great many years.

No only is it in the name, but I just read the whole first page - in particular Bitseeker's first two posts - and there is a very clear message that it's all about Test Equipment.

Check it out yourself (see below).

Until recently, diversions away from that central core have been brief and departures have been guided back with either a nudge or self-discipline.  Even you were responsive to requests to keep 3D printing content in its own thread and compromised by making a single post in the TEA thread when an exercise warranted it.

About TEA

This was the official TEA (Test Equipment Anonymous) house for everyone who has GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). The new TEA House is at https://groups.io/g/tea.

Share your stories of woe, trying to manage all the wonderful test gear you keep scoring. Maybe group therapy will cure you. Then, again, maybe not. Well, as long as you enjoy it, what's one more multimeter in the grand scheme of things?

Just remember that when you have too many, another one doesn't make the problem any worse.

Don't quote the manual at me, son; I wrote half of what's in there. And I will draw your attention to the Mission Statement right at the top of what you quoted.

It has always been primarily about the Anonymous part and the Therapy part, and your willful ignorance of the fact doesn't make that any less a fact.

I am simply restating what I think you will find was mentioned by a moderator along with talk of guns and explosives along with that B word. I can only surmise that they were actually summarising the actual list of complaints that they received from the complainers.

I like you, are only too well aware of the references that you mentioned in your reply, who made them and the context in which they were made, and they just became a long-running gag within the thread by those who knew exactly the history of the 50gm thing and was mentioned in response to when Murphy gets you.

Not a single one of us would have allowed the topic that was mentioned by admin, to have taken place, likewise the gun talk was purely very brief and generally only arose after some mass shooting and was condemning the use and carrying of fire arms in general, full stop.

Please G, we are all well over this.
As for your ill considered and now bolded comment, you can stick such BS where the sun don't shine as the carrying and use of firearms are perfectly legal pastimes/hobbies/sports and professions.

I say drop it, everyone has made their positions and feelings clear and it's time to move on.
Did it pan out as we may have preferred, no but suck it up and consign it to history.

While I don't see anything there titled "Mission Statement", the only things I see there are direct references to test gear

Just because you say black is white doesn't make it so - no matter how many times nor matter how vehemently you may insist.

However, I find your willful ignorance of the fact that both of those terms are always referencing the previous two words: "Test Equipment" rather bizarre.  There's no ambiguity there.  Not one iota.

Nevertheless, if that is your interpretation, then I feel you have seriously got it wrong.

I would be interested to see if any other members can see validity in your argument.

I stand by my assertion.

You might find it curious that I understand why you want to make such a stand, but I am not alone in that understanding.  Nevertheless, no matter how much you might want to press this agenda, it can never succeed through logical means.

Aaaand now this particular spot of the discussion has gone recursive; took all of 2 posts. I really expected better of you, Brumby. That tautology wasn't even worthy of a slashdot troll.

Cheers mate,

Wow.

Just ... wow.   :palm:
