Don't let your ex sell your stuff on eBay
Decapitator:
I came across a handful of of eBay listings that may be of interest to members who live in the Santa Barbara, California area. Local pickups only.
A few examples include:
POWER DESIGNS MODEL 4005 Opening bid $1, No bids yet https://www.ebay.com/itm/164221937887
VARIAC W5MT AUTO TRANSFORMER Opening bid $0.99 One bid so far. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164222005326
FLUKE 853A MULTIMETER Opening bid $0.99 No bids yet. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164221999280
ELECTRO-MATIC PRODUCTS MODEL 127 VOLT TESTER Opening bid $0.99 No bids yet. Judging from the dial plate, I suspect that this is a small Variac based DC power supply with a meter. https://www.ebay.com/itm/164221999279
Check the seller's other items. There's lots more.

Where does it say these are being sold by an "ex"?
On Ebay there is no need at all to bid early. Let's not start another thread about the psychology of bidding on Ebay. If someone is richer and/or more desperate a lower bid is gonna lose no matter when it was put in.
On Ebay and especially in America everything finds a final bid price that reflects the market. It's only when there is a chance only one person is interested that a low start price can bite you. I imagine that is less common in a place like America. In Australia yeah for sure you need to be sure you'll get two people to fight over it.
I picked up over twenty years of Electronics Australia magazines for $5.50. That was a daughter selling her fathers stuff. She just wanted the house cleared so she could sell that.

I agree. Seems more like someone is selling stuff from a family member which passed away. Starting at $1 is a good strategy to get a reasonable price and move stuff quickly.

Go to https://SBSOS.care/shop and look under 'Electronics'. You'll see what they are expecting to get for these items. :-DD
They're some kind of estate sale agent and they clearly either have no idea how to use eBay for these things or they are lazy
Unfortunately for them, I don't see a single thing that would merit a drive to Santa Barbara even at $0.99.

The Teks are nice. I would totally drive from here to there if they were asking that price in my currency.
