Dynalite Dali Problem
« on: March 30, 2018, 12:19:41 am »
I am working in an installation in which I have a Philips Dynalite DDBC120 controller to which I have connected 63 ballasts with Led luminaires. My problem is that when I order them to light up, they do it asynchronously, some first and others later, not all at the same time. The same thing happens when I order them to turn off. I am programming the system with the Envision Project software from the same manufacturer. Does anyone know what may be due?

If you are controlling the lamps individually it will be painfully slow, DALI is crap like that, but IIRC there is a way to create groups of lamps and then address the group with a common command?

I cannot now remember the details, but it will be in the protocol document somewhere.

Regards, Dan.

I'm just starting out with planning a DALI installation at home so I'm certainly no expert but yeah, you're going to have to assign your individual ballasts to group(s) (there can be up to 16 groups) and then command that/those group(s). If you just want to control all of them, look at using broadcast.

Unfortunately the protocol documentation isn't freely available, just bits and pieces but the documentation for your specific controller should tell you how to create groups and assign ballasts/illuminaires.

Hi everybody.

Finaly, I put all the physical channels directly in one logical area and now all the luminaries turn on and off at the same time. Thank you very much for your help!
