| EAPOL version 2 vs. version 3 - documentation? |
| (1/1) |
| Martin F:
We're looking to implement enterprise WiFi support in our data logger. In the current form, we support the following: EAP-PEAPv0/MSCHAPv2 EAP-PEAPv1/MSCHAPv2 EAP-TTLS/MSCHAPv2 We do not support EAP-TLS, however, at this stage (i.e. we do not support client certificates, only server certificates). Within our current support, we would expect to be able to connect to a specific Cisco WiFi router, but we are getting an issue related to the 'EAPOL version'. The WiFi router seems to require EAPOL 'version 3', while our device's WiFi module only supports 'version 2'. We are using a WINC1500 from Microchip. We seem unable to find further details on the exact difference between 'version 3' and 'version 2', other than other forum posts highlighting that a mismatch will indeed cause a device to be unable to connect. For our use case, it is not a solution to change settings on the WiFi router, hence we need to change our implementation to also support 'version 3'. Anybody has additional details on these version differences? |
