Ebay new false or missing contact information policy.

(1/1)

--- Quote ---Hello Ed,

We care about making your experience on eBay the best that it can be. Even if your postal address is up to date, a simple typo, missing or incorrect information can mean a delay in receiving your item.

We recently updated our False or missing contact information policy to add that if eBay identifies a postal address on your account that is entered incorrectly, is incomplete or doesn’t follow the format used by carriers such as Australia Post, we may make minor adjustments to help ensure smooth delivery. For example, abbreviating a state name from 'Queensland' to 'QLD', fixing a typo or ensuring your suburb name matches your postcode.

What this means for you:

If a minor error has been found in the 'suburb' or 'state' fields of your delivery address, we have automatically corrected this on your behalf. We have not changed any other registration details.

Please take this opportunity to check the details we have on file for you. If everything looks good, you don’t need to do anything else.

Is this really a thing? What is eBay really up to?

greenpossum:
It's a thing.

I'm in the US and I've got the same email. I think I once clicked on a link that someone shared and it took me to the Australian version. And since then part of eBay thinks I'm Australian and need my suburb to be corrected.
