ECCN for export

(1/2) > >>

syau:
For those live outside U.S.A. and puchase used equippment or parts, a proper shipper/forwarder/seller needs to provide an ECCN to clear the U.S.A. custom properly. During a recent shipping arrangement, I found that it is very difficult to locate the ECCN number from the manufacture's web site.

Kiethley is so kind that they provide a search engine on their web site https://www.tek.com/en/support/export-codes  :-+

but not Keysight  :--

coppice:
ECCNs change over time, as what was once state of the art eventually becomes commonplace. So, an ECCN may change over the life of a long running product, and even more by the time it reaches the used market. Over time it becomes less interesting for a manufacturer to put the effort into getting an updated an ECCN rating, so anything you find on their site might be old, and more restrictive than necessary. I'm not clear how you get something current.

ECCN is the Harmonize number, like 3801.1.0000.

Every manufacturer should provide or you can look it up.

There is also a US export requirements for shipment value $2500 or more

Over 2500 a CBP number is required, see the freight firm website and airbill form, and contact the CBP to self file.

Fed Ex charges $15 well worth as the CBP process takes hours....

Purchase new equipment through the manufacturer or distributor will have them sorted out for you. Used equipment is a different story.
