Do you use the MSB for other than mailbag videos? If not it seems to be about 10% of your content uses that background.

Almot every bench video you see it shot there, including all the mailbag video "closeup" content. Teardown, reviews, almost everything is shot at that spot unless it need to be shot somewhere else for a specific reason. I've had essentially this same set up for the last decade.

AC controller could move quite easily, just pop it off the wall, look at the cabling, which will either be a few wire terminals, or a RJ45 socket and cable vanishing up the wall. All 24VAC wire, so easy to fish it out a new hole nearby to give a clear wall.
Likely inside just caps that are failing, very common on these as they use the usual PRC floor sweepings, and the suspects are the low value electrolytics along with hot resistors, and the bulging or leaking big ones.
Move to the left of the phone and you get the whole wall section to use. Does anybody actually ever use intercoms these days, most couriers will phone your mobile number from the entryway here, they find it easier.

This.
Then you can change it up to suit what you are doing at the time.

Just got here from the video. I like the idea of the photo booth ESD mat, but ideally with a different, more neutral color. That green always looked on the sickly side to me. ;D
Either way, I'd shy away from anything lit up. I'm sure there's a way to do it right, but neon signs etc. in the background always look to my eye like they're totally throwing off the exposure of the rest of the shot. Probably just making sure the neon/LED strip/backlight is dim enough and/or the other lights are bright enough helps a ton.
bitwelder:
I do like the blue & white logo (which in a video shot would also work as an explicit 'fingerprint'), although I wish the contrast between the blue text and the black background would be better (how, I'm not sure, maybe changing to a dark-grey background?)
