EEVBlog disappeared this morning from my Tapatalk and searching for 'eevblog' brings nothing (no problem with other forums such as sparkfun).
Anybody else experiencing it?

I just fired up Tapatalk and did a search for EEVBlog - found it no problem.

Just a side note, if Dave does read it: when I fist connected a few days ago to EEVBlog on Tapatalk, it warned me that the Tapatalk API is out of date. Just saying!

Yeah it's been out of date for as long as I've been using tapatalk. I think the out of date api is why quick reply doesn't work and why you can't edit your posted messages in tapatalk.

Same thing here. Occasionally it says EEVBlog has not updated its Taptalk software, and other times it works. Seemed too hit or miss to me, so I have not been using it recently.

To clarify. The few times I got that out of date message, I was not able to access the forum. But then later logged on fine. Still, disconcerting because it lowers confidence that it is presenting everything properly.

The Tapatalk "Unread" section feature is unreliable. There are times when it reports no unread messages when in fact there are, if read from the web.

Worse - I found that if I started my tablet with Tapatalk and then went on the web, it seemed to have marked all the posts as read.

Same here, and sometimes it asks me to enter eevblog password again. No problem with other sites.

I checked when this thread was first posted and my Tapatalk 2 worked for EEVblog, but now it doesn't, gives a "failed to connect to forum, please check with the forum administrator if this problem persists" message
other forums work on Tapatalk 2

BTW, when accessing it directly from my phone's browser, the mobile mode looks nicer than I expected.

Same here. The site was down for a day ('database connection error') and when it came back, the tapatalk error message changed to 404.
EEVBlog is becoming a hit or miss thing.

The nagging prompt aside it is way easier to navagate the forum on my phone and tablet with tapatalk as opposed to using the browser.

ISTR he's commented before that there's nothing he can do - the updated Tapatalk plugin doesn't work with this version of SMF, or something.

Been getting the 404 error for yonks now on tapatalk pro. Hope SMFs will fix this in their next update.

Nothing wrong with it at all. Just that with TT you have all the forums your involved with in one place.

It works user experience is inferior to tapatalk. For example, you have to click to get past the current page, or it does not have 'participated' list.

Not a TT user, just curious if its "very" difficult to configure it that it wont spit out the TT spam sig at every post it made ?
In the version of Tapatalk that I occasionally use on my Kindle Fire there is a Tapatalk Signature setting that has four options. One of the options is to set the Signature to NONE (which is what I set mine to).

Works great Dave thanks a billion! So happy to have it back.
Edit: Editing posts now works with the updated plugin. Also the forum feels very fast and responsive!

Following an update to the app itself all seems to be working again, nothing in the bug report mentioning forum issues so not sure if it was the update that fixed it or Dave's nuke. Either way.. Beauty :-)

I vote for getting rid of Tapatalk support completely. No need for the rest of us to put up with that shit.

I'm at a loss to figure out in what way you have to "put up with that shit".
If you don't use it, you shouldn't even know it is available on EEVBlog, and as far as I know, it doesn't impede you from using any other browser on any other device.

I usually delete that line before submitting, but included it here to display the fact that I actually used the now working Tapatalk to reply (this reply from my laptop).
In Tapatalk, going into settings, you have the option for "Tapatalk Signature" to display 1: "None", 2: "Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2", 3: "Sent from my Nexus" or 4: "Customize", with device and Tapatalk version differences. The default is #2. I've just selected #1.

I'm bothered by the stupid Tapatalk pop-up that appears on half the sites I visit, although fortunately not on EEVBlog. I installed their app just to rate it 1 star and then uninstalled it. Spamming deserves to be punished.
Also "posted from my X" is just branding yourself as a retard. It says "I'm too dumb to figure out how to turn this off", or even worse "Look everybody I have an iPhone! My life now has meaning!"
it displays by default, and until the user figures it out, he might not want it there anyway
do you have many insignificant annoyances?
maybe your winging is more annoying than what you complain about, have you pondered that?

A quick google reveals I am not alone. There are loads of threads complaining about Tapatalk. Since when was spamming people with pop-ups advertising commercial crapware the moment they visit a site okay?

You are bothered by the pop ups that appear at other sites, so why are you complaining here?
If you want to complain, do it at those sites, not here. People might not understand your ulterior motives to berate Tapatalk for EEVBlog, and might mistakenly not consider obtaining the useful tool.

Hmm, today I seem to be getting non stop full page banners for tapatalk cap every time I click on a page. Anyone else getting this? Who even uses this mal ware anymore given how good phone and tablet screens are now??
