Help, my google fu is failing me
« on: May 28, 2018, 01:51:54 pm »
I'm looking for a good weight scale/balance with digital interface (ttl/rs232 serial preferably) to weight bottles, about 0.1..0.25 grams of resolution, up to 500g max.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would usually start off with a search term like "rs232 digital scale" on Google and on eBay.  That will give you some idea of what's around and what it will cost.  Hone your searches from there.

As for what is good or not, I don't have that knowledge, sorry.

Something like this:

Do not get pocket balances or "jewelry" balances. The ones in the link above look reasonable given the price. Cole-Parmer is a decent scientific supply company. I've bought a lot of their brand lab equipment and am happy with it (e.g., ultrasonicators, magnetic stirrers, glassware, filters, chemicals etc). The only thing I bought I don't like is a Ohaus brand pocket balance that's BS. I think I left a review on the website. The above is for Cole-Palmer UK and has a shitty shipping time (22 days) - the US version is in stock. Of course.

For other options, I suggest searching for laboratory supply companies in Poland/EU and then go to those sites.

Tell me it can't be done and I'll do it. Or give it a damned good try.
