Efficient banana plug wire/cable storage?
« on: May 28, 2018, 09:53:03 pm »
How do you efficiently store your banana plug leads/cables?

Up until now I stored them in a large plastic jar, but getting to them involved pulling them all out and a little bit of untangling. My crocodile leads are all clipped to an upside down U shaped strip of plastic that is mounted on the side of my desk and that works great. I thought maybe a hook could be used for the bananas leads, with each one inserted into the last one with one of them on the hook, but that isn't going to work either.

Ideas? Thanks.

I have a board with drilled holes attached to a wall.
I just plug the cables into the holes and let the cables dangle.

Yeah I was thinking about that, but I'm not sure I have the space. I may still do that, so thanks  :D

I just hammer nails into the edge of the shelf or a stud and use them as hooks. I do this for woodworking clamps etc.

You could 3D print, laser cut, bandsaw etc. one if you want a custom size.
They are £75 in the UK ($100 USD) which is just ridiculous pricing even for a professional setup. Although it's given me an idea for making one from wood though  ;D Thanks.

Homebrew style, that's what some colleagues did here at work:

I do prefer the comb style ones mentioned above (look at the left most side and use your imagination):
