Thanks,
In 2017, in UK, you could buy a brand new Dacia Sandero for £5000.
It is , and was, a perfectly good, reliable , comfortable car.

You know where Dacia cars are manufactured, right? And they are benefiting from decades of experience in the car industry from both former Dacia and Renault. Definitely not your random newcomer.
With that said, are most car makers currently milking the green cow and will be for years to come with EVs? Absolutely!

Now deliver it to the UK fully compliant with vehicle requirements and see how much it costs.
As usual this thread is another time sink. Nonsense premise and then when simple questions are asked Faringdon just ignores them. I was somewhat anti ban before but how do these threads add any value here? Yes the solution is auto ignore the user but so is banning.
I can't possibly see why he's held so many positions over the years. /s

Exactly: even if someone could produce such a cheap car, you wouldn't get a lot of people in the UK actually buying it -- regardless of whether it's electric.
Most people want crash safety and power seats and emergency braking and navigation systems, and everything else in modern cars. If they can afford it they are willing to pay for them. The few people who don't want those things are already driving some 1990s economy hatchback held together by duct tape and they like it that way. They aren't going to buy your new car either.
So to sell such a cheap car you would need to either do so in a market that values those features less or aren't willing or able to pay for them. Or make a car that people in the UK actually want.

And what would this new car be named?
