Electrical Wiring CAD Freeware?
« on: November 15, 2018, 10:31:50 pm »
I'm looking for something I can use to design wiring for a trailer conversion into a camper (caravan).

So it would have both home electrical components as well as 12VDC . Solar, etc.

any suggestions?

thanks!

Does anybody know what software is used to create these diagrams?

I'd be fine paying for the software, just didn't want some mulit-thousand dollar professional CAD system.

thanks.

There's LibreCAD and QCad which are more or less equivalent to the 2D part of AutoCAD (see FreeCAD for the 3D version) or some generic schematic editor like KiCad might work. Scanlime also released the source code for DaveCAD if that fits your needs.

Nah, that wasn't a source code release, it was a pirated version ("cracked version by Tuco Crew").  ;D

It probably wouldn't be suitable for wiring of a skyscraper, but Diptrace would probably be fine for a small project. It's very easy to make custom parts. So easy that I rarely use any of the pre-made libraries.
