ipod classic 30gb does nothing

so yesterday was at my friends house and he gave me his old ipod he had no use for it he took very good care of it and hardly used it
when i was using it at his house it was working great i took good care of it taking it home used it for about 2mins when i got home then left it on my desk i then go to use it today and its not turning on

so i plugged in charger nothing happened so i left it for 7hrs and came back and its not doing anything can't turn it or charger it

Seriously though, have you followed the hard reset procedure for that model?

make sure you've got it plugged into a power source/charger and try a few times.....

The older style apples needed to be plugged into a PC or an apple charger with the right resistors across the data pins, or it would never charge,

Try a PC.

true i assumed the OP has the original charger
