Electronics for Ukraine

Faringdon:
Hi,
This isnt a political post.
Just that i have had numerous  EE's come up to me and ask if there is any agency that an electronics company can contact, in order to sign themselves up for
manufacturing electronics for Ukraine?
For example, Drones, Drone jammers, Mobile Radios, Battery Packs, Battery management systems, etc etc, Portable stove heaters for ration cooking, etc etc.
Is it the government that you must contact? The ukrainian Government? Your own government?
The foreign office?, The minister for Industry?

Googled it but nothing

We all did it for Covid, now for Ukraine.

Whilst I doubt you are sincere... here goes:

DE&S deals with purchasing equipment for the MoD, and puts out tenders.  Some of this equipment may go to Ukraine, but you would only find out if you bid on tenders.  Most of those tenders require security clearance to access so if you do not have that then you can probably stop there.  Some are public, but it would be essentially unheard of for any sensitive/military contracts to be in the public domain.

You would need a sales agent in Ukraine to deal with Ukraine directly because the country cannot be easily visited (no flights, very limited trains) and the UK government does not advise anyone travel there so no travel insurance etc.  Also this is pretty typical anyway as selling to militaries of any kind requires contacts to get the attention of the head honchos. You do not just rock up to a military base and ask to speak to the colonel.

Be aware exporting military technology requires an export licence.  If you do not have an export licence for military equipment you will be in for a really bad time, possibly including anything up to imprisonment.  There are a lot of hoops to jump through.

That does not make sense. I would hope your grasp of your native English would exceed your pathetic power supply abilities.

Treez, your posts have given many of us an opportunity to show how nice some people can be. I am no expert in power, so I have only watched as the many superiors here have given you endless instruction. I can only applaud and respect their gracious donations to your (frequently) inane questions.

If I read the forum information correctly, this forum is supposed to be absent of political bias. If I am wrong, please excuse me and as I am a guest, I will immediately change my presentation. For the record, I am thankful to Dave for providing this forum for our education and entertainment.
